Email covers the parts of your customer journey that happen outside real-time chat: welcome sequences, order confirmations, follow-up drips, and post-conversation summaries. Because Fliqr AI flows can trigger an email at any point in a conversation — based on a tag, a form submission, or a pipeline stage change — you can coordinate chat and email without managing them in separate tools. This page covers how to configure your sending method, verify your domain, and understand what email can (and cannot) do inside Fliqr AI.

Prerequisites

  • A sending domain you control (e.g., mail.yourbusiness.com) — required for custom SMTP and recommended for deliverability even with the built-in sender
  • Access to your DNS settings to add SPF and DKIM records
  • If using custom SMTP: your SMTP host, port, username, and password
  • Optionally, a custom From address (e.g., [email protected])

Connect Email to Fliqr AI

1

Open channel settings

In Fliqr AI, go to Settings → Channels → Email.
2

Choose your sending method

Select either Fliqr AI built-in (managed sending infrastructure) or Custom SMTP (your own mail server or transactional provider like SendGrid or Postmark).
3

Configure custom SMTP (if applicable)

If you chose Custom SMTP, enter:
  • SMTP Host (e.g., smtp.sendgrid.net)
  • Port (typically 587 for TLS or 465 for SSL)
  • Username and Password
  • From address and From name
4

Verify your domain

Fliqr AI displays the SPF and DKIM DNS records you need to add. Log in to your DNS provider and add both records to your sending domain. Propagation typically takes a few minutes to a few hours.
5

Confirm verification

Return to Settings → Email → Domain Verification and click Check Records. Both SPF and DKIM must show a verified status before you send to real contacts.
6

Send a test email

Click Send Test Email and enter your own address to confirm delivery, formatting, and sender name appear correctly.

Supported message types

Use the Send Email block in the Flow Builder to compose and send either type. You can insert dynamic variables (contact name, order ID, custom fields) directly into subject lines and body content. Email works well for events that happen at the end of or between conversations — post-chat follow-ups, welcome sequences, order confirmations, and re-engagement messages.
To avoid spam folders, add both the SPF record and the DKIM record provided in Settings → Email → Domain Verification to your DNS before sending to real contacts. Emails sent from unverified domains have significantly higher spam classification rates.

Limitations

Outbound only. Fliqr AI uses email as a sending channel. Inbound email replies are not received or routed into a Flow — the email channel does not function as a two-way inbox. If a contact replies to an automated email, that reply goes to the From address you configured (your inbox), not back into Fliqr AI.Not a bulk ESP. The email channel is designed for transactional and triggered messages initiated by conversation events, not high-volume marketing blasts. For large-scale campaigns, connect a dedicated email service provider via the Integrations panel and trigger sends from there.
