Add files to an AI Agent

AI Files are documents you upload once and attach to one or more Agents. Use them when your source of truth lives in files rather than a public URL.

Supported uploads

Common formats include PDF, CSV, DOCX, DOC, JSON, PPTX, TXT (and similar text-extractable documents). Prefer text-based PDFs over scanned images.

Upload the file

Go to AI Center → AI Tools → AI Files and upload the document.

Edit the Agent

Open your AI Agent and find the AI tools / files section.

Select the file

Attach the uploaded file to the agent and save.

Test

In the Playground, ask a question that only the file can answer. Confirm the reply uses your content.

Keep each file focused. One giant mixed PDF is harder to retrieve from than several topic-focused documents.
