The persistent menu is an always-on menu inside the conversation. Use it for top-level actions people may need at any time — pricing, support, human handoff, or restart.

Supported channels

Persistent menu is available on:
  • Instagram
  • Messenger
  • Website chat

Create the menu

Open channel settings

Go to Settings → Channels → Instagram.

Edit the persistent menu

Find Persistent Menu and click Edit.

Add menu items

Create labels for your top actions and map each item to a published flow or URL action supported by the channel.

Optional: disable free-text input

Uncheck Allow keyboard input if you want users to choose menu actions instead of typing freely.

Save

Save your changes and test from a mobile Instagram DM thread.
Keep the menu short. Three to five clear actions work better than a long list of overlapping options.
